Shots Fired Inside Bone Student Center Sparks Campus Alarm
At approximately 8:45 p.m., multiple 911 calls reported gunfire inside the Bone Student Center — a central campus location for student events and gatherings. Officers from ISUPD swiftly responded, secured the building, and launched an immediate investigation. While no injuries have been reported, the event caused widespread fear among students, faculty, and visitors.
Eyewitnesses described a chaotic and frightening scene, with people seeking shelter in nearby rooms or quickly evacuating the building. The ISUPD was supported by the Normal Police Department and the McLean County Sheriff’s Office in securing the area and conducting a comprehensive search.
